Picture-to-picture matching is a great way to improve language skills and vocabulary in young children. This picture matching activity focuses on the theme of farm animals and is a great way to introduce your child to the subject. Say the name on each card, match it to the corresponding picture on the template, and then have the child repeat. Velcro dots can be used for more sensory activity, or cards can be placed in a stereognostic pocket and pulled out individually.
This exercise is also useful for teaching people with dyslexia as matching words to pictures is a key exercise to help with reading.
